Editorial Reviews:

Since the first time we heard Luke Skywalker ask Obi-Wan Kenobi "You fought in the Clone Wars!?" in Episode IV: A New Hope, fans the world over have been wondering exactly what the Clone Wars were and what clones in combat would look like. On August 15th, 2008, with the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, much will be explained. The Clone Wars take place between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Lucasfilm is now bringing the wars to life in an all-new CGI animated series.

The theatrical release will launch this groundbreaking computer-generated animated series, which will then debut on Cartoon Network and TNT in the fall. New characters like female Padawan Ahsoka Tano join old favorites Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, Count Dooku, General Grievous, and others as the Jedi cross lightsabers with the dark side yet again.

Summary: A home run for one five year-old!
Comment: A new Star Wars convert, my five year old son received this as a gift for his birthday two months ago. Since then, it has rarely left his side, as he reads it constantly. Although the vocabulary is often over his head, the graphics, layout and textual narration are excellent, and continue to command his attention and stimulate his imagination. Note: the book is strictly limited to the Star Wars Clone Wars saga (and graphics/illustrations from the movie/tv series, not any of the 6 SW movies). A very well-done product.

Summary: A Grand Book
Comment:
The Visual Guide to the Clone Wars (based on the new animated film), is a remarkable book. Those who are familiar with the film, will find the book very easy to follow, and a delightful look into the film that goes at your pace.

The art is taken from the film, and 'panels' are inserted (and even numbered) so readers can follow the plot scene by scene. It's almost like this is a sophisticated storyboard for Clone Wars that took on a life of its' own. With the book, various elements in the film can be explained on a visual level, and inside jokes like 1138 can be got by savvy fans. (Think THX 1138).

Unlike many visual guides, this one weighs in at 144 pages of pure digital animation joy. Watching the film, I appreciated it, but missed some of the subtle plot nuances. This time, I got them.

The back of the book says it well. "A plan is only as goos as those who see it through". Perhaps this is a reference to the Scorcerors Apprentice, "Finish What you Start".

Either way, the Clone Wars rocks.

Summary: Clean, Nice, Cute and Bold
Comment: I really like this visual guide. It's clean, well organized, nice, very beautiful book, with a modern and bold design. It's for all the family, parents included, not only for the kids. As a long time Star Wars fan and visual guides collector, I recomend.

Summary: A Good Summery on The Clone Wars Series
Comment: Although I have to Agree with most people at a slight disapointment that The Clone Wars 3-D Animated Movie and Series is so geared towards the younger Star Wars fans. It mostly excludes the Serious Adult Star Wars Fan. That is something I kind of have a bone to pick. However putting that aside I try to enjoy The Clone Wars for what it is. Geared Towards Kids, However True Star Wars fans can Still Somewhat Appriciate it. On that Level I Give this Book, as a review of the Series 5 Stars Because it does such a great job. The Detail and Accuracy is Fanatical. The Book really pays attention to detail and any fan of the Series Should own this book. So why in my review did I only Give 4 Stars ? That is Because as a total Star Wars Fanatic The Clone Wars Series as a whole Is Good for Adults But I still feel a bit cheated as It is based towards Children for the Most Part.

Summary: Nice to have book
Comment: Got this book to introduce Star Wars to my kid, he likes the animated Yoda, but I guess it's because he is green, my son just loves green. Most of his favorite characters are green, Oscar the Grouch, the Green Power Ranger...
